Having An Opinion Is Dangerous

As a writer and a YouTube content creator, I am constantly getting feedback on my work. Most of the time the feedback is good as long as I give an objective view and analysis of the product in review. But then if I step outside of reviewing and I try to speak my honest opinion about something, it stirs up trouble. Just answering a question with an honest answer can cause a big headache if the person asking the question feels that the answer conflicts with their own opinion.
It feels like most of this has to do with the fact that I am only being asked my opinion because people feel that I am going to have the same view, but with a new spin that makes them feel even wiser about their decision. In reality, the opinions of others have no standing, or should have no standing, when it comes to you making a decision about an important purchase like a firearm.
Recently I stirred up a crowd by posting a video about why I wont be getting the CZ P10C. I clarified that I would have to buy it in order to review it, which means that I better like it before I buy it. I don't just buy things to roll the dice on whether I like it after shooting it. Anyways, my case against the pistol was the fact that I was less excited about it after I handled it at SHOT show. I began to question why CZ made the gun the way it did, and that led me to feel that it was not "unique" enough for me. I own several guns like the P10C and they all sit in my safe collecting dust. It is going to take something that is unique but very good in order for me to pay for it these days.
After posting the video, I found that my views on it soared and the comments and ratings saw alot of attention. This video drew alot of criticism in the form of just telling me I am wrong, to all out interrogation. In all, people thought that me shooting the pistol has everything to do with validating my gripes with the pistol design. I made no real attack towards its ability to work and last, because I know it would last and CZ has great customer service. I have no doubt that the pistol will work when CZ finally works out the production issues, but I had no real draw to the idea of the pistol as a whole.
In the end, everyone can have an opinion, and mine still stands. I will not apologize for having an opinion or for expressing it. Unless CZ intends to put out a slide in frame striker fired design, I will not be jumping on the bandwagon.
