There is a new steel target company that is getting traction. Targets USA is based out of Alaska, but they have a site that you can order from if interested, and use the code: DOITRITEAK for 10% off your order.
First thing you will notice about the steel targets from this company is that they are simple and they break down into individual components. The posts can be mounted on a 2x4 piece of wood or even a T post if you wish. They even have systems coming out that can mount 3 ways. Horizontal 2x4, vertical 2x4, and on a T post. Also, you will notice that few of their mounts use springs and bolts for attaching to mounting posts. Each target is designed to have a downward angle so that the spalling is minimized for the shooter. The 2x4 can get a little chewed up, but if you use a T post, you can minimize the damage. Also, they sell bases that take T posts as well, if you so desire.
Even the bases are designed to be versatile and offer several options. The standard bases are set up to have a three way leg base that uses metal conduit pipe. You can adjust how far back or forward the rear pipe can go, and even include a pocket base if you wish to merely set up cardboard or paper targets. Like I said, it is designed to be very versatile.

As far as portability is concerned, most of their systems break down without the need for tools, and this makes it very portable since the posts, bases, and targets are not all built into one single block of steel. Now, you can order targets that are all welded together with their mounts and bolted on, and those are generally less expensive. Personally, I like the targets that break down into their basic parts for more flexibility and versatility. Either way, you can't go wrong with these targets.
Targets USA is focused on offering steel targets that are durable, versatile, portable, and affordable. I think that this company has everything we could want in the steel shooting sports. I like how simple they are and how uniquely efficient they are.

When using these targets, they are designed to be able to shoot pretty close, but of course you will still get some splash from the rounds you fire. If you can handle that, just keep in mind that you want to avoid shooting the mounting claw that holds your target since they will increase the risk of bullets coming back, despite the targets being angled down.

I am happy to have the opportunity to work with the owner on exploring these targets, but we are working under the agreement that I will not sugarcoat my review of their products. Overall, I have a hard time finding things that I don't like. Of course it can be frustrating to have to setup their targets in a couple/few trips, but the options you are given far outweigh the negatives or drawbacks. Check them out if you wish. I highly recommend them and I will continue to do updates and keep you abreast of more products they offer and supply you with information that you might want to consider. Share with your friends and get the word out on this product.
