 SHOT show 2017 was not exactly filled with as much enthusiasm as other years for many of the media sources out there. This one seemed to just be a bunch of the same old, same old with a little things here and there to keep people watching. My list of pistols that are getting me excited are not new from a general design standpoint, but they do answer some of the needs of the market as in variety and value. Caracal is at the top of the list in this case for several reasons.
 I know the heart throb of 2017 has and will be the CZ P10C. I can understand how it is exciting for people, but I just want to lay out my own impressions on the pistol after giving it a look at SHOT Show 2017.
 Walther has been one of the most significant leaders of innovation in the terms of ergonomics, and overall versatility. The prime example would be the most common Walther pistol of the late 20th and early 21st century. What you are seeing is that the P99 pistol system as a whole has successfully served many law enforcement agencies. The P99 has seen a significant amount of change through the years to keep up with the demands of not only the LE market, but also the civilian market.
 Shorter barrels generally tend to vent more pressure, making it harder for rounds to achieve maximum potential velocity. This in turn can affect your terminal results. Such things like failures to expand are the primary concern when considering ammo to carry in any firearm.
 Ever since the VP9 was released to the American gun market, people have been enamored by it. The name Heckler&Koch have always been synonymous with quality and durability. In fact, we as shooters have come to expect nothing BUT quality from all products released by this company. But is the Volks Pistola 9mm really the cream of the crop for the civilian market?
 If you frequent alot of gun forums and talk to alot of the people on them, you may notice a peculiar pattern. These people, not all of them, seem to be the source for alot of the theories that other people adopt. Things like "stopping power" and "my gun is accurate" are seen on almost all posts. Now this doesn't mean that these places are not a source of knowledge, but I would advise people to learn things from credible sources. If one of these characters is able to reply to every single post and response on the post day in and day out, where do they get the time to learn about anything from experience?
 With all the single stack 9mm pistols out there, it is hard to pick one and make the decision that it is the best, or even just worth your money. I know for me, it was hard to justify a pistol like the Beretta Nano. I have other guns slightly taller that have one or more rounds over the Nano and other guns like it. Plus they have less recoil, and are just easier to pick up and shoot well on a whim. But does this mean that I think the Beretta Nano is irrelevant in comparison? Well, let us look over the details, and I will let you decide for yourself.
