The Dot Torture targets are a pretty good skill test for those that want to see where they stand. The target will guide you through the basics such as drawing, reloading, transitioning targets, and shooting one-handed. That is all good, but if you get a bundle of 100 of these babies, you might like to hear that there are things you can use it for things other than just what is printed or suggested on the target. Creativity is key to a fun and challenging time at the range. RUN IT OUT The first course of fire that I think this target can offer is one that tests your ability to accurately shoot and transition from target to target. This will test your ability to control recoil, call your shots, and acquire a swift acceptable sight picture before pulling the trigger without moving the gun. This is a course of fire that will require your whole magazine and even a reload if you so desire. Feel free to time yourself and see how you are progressing. MAKE A HOLE If you are quite skilled in marksmanship, you may find this course of fire to be a bit of a challenge but fun. Basically, all you are doing is drilling out a hole in one of the ten dots and eliminating the entire dot. The catch here is that you will want to make sure you do your best to leave the border of the dot untouched. This is going to be a bit of an emotional test. We shooters can sometimes put ego into our shooting and the fear of failure can cause us to lose our discipline. This is quite a test. PLAIN WHITE The back side of these targets are also a great way to track your hits at ranges past 50 yards with a pistol. I encourage ranged shooting since the ballistics are a bit different. But I also think the back side would be great for new shooters as well. It is important for there to be a good sized target for beginners to work on. COUNTING There are ten dots on this target and one of the things I think you may find challenging is shooting the same number of rounds as the dot number. This is going to no doubt require you to perform a reload, or more depending on the capacity of your pistol. In the end, the best way to get the most out of any target is to use your imagination. This target has a good amount to offer for many different types of shooters out there.
