Besides discussing my choice of lubricant, I feel that using my testing of the LH9 is a beautiful example of what I am trying to discuss. When lubricating the pistol, I first started using the Gun Lube and would only lubricate it once every thousand rounds. Then in a spell of curiosity, I took it to 2000 rounds just to see how it would hold up. Well let us just say that it actually took fouling buildup out of the pistol that I had presumed to be claiming residency for the remainder of the testing.
When a gun gets dirty, and fouling builds, it is important to know how to keep your guns running smoothly. In my experience, most combat time isn't going to allow you the luxury to break down your weapon to lubricate it. The best thing you can do is to lubricate the weapon with a product that is designed and proven to withstand overwhelming pressures and contamination. For this reason, I have stuck with SLIP2000. It is the only CLP I have ever used that is capable of staying with the metal and providing a long term film of lubrication. Besides discussing my choice of lubricant, I feel that using my testing of the LH9 is a beautiful example of what I am trying to discuss. Then in a spell of curiosity, I took it to 2000 rounds just to see how it would hold up. Well let us just say that it actually took fouling buildup out of the pistol that I had presumed to be claiming residency for the remainder of the testing. All I have been doing is adding lubricant without opening up the pistol, and running it. The proof is in the pictures I have put up. I am seeing that the fouling is not building up much anymore and the fouling is not able to mate with the metal surfaces. The magazines still kick out freely, and the action is still buttery smooth. This is a very good testament to what you can do with a little SLIP2000 in the right areas.
